In China, every construction site is decorated in green. The sites are covered by different types of artificial green fences, such as grass turf, printed images of grass, green safety nets, etc.
In common perception, green is associated with plants and represents the ideal concept of nature. If we consider “nature” as the base and “city” as the product of human construction after the elimination of nature, then “city” and “nature” are situated at opposite ends of the axis, and the construction activity is logically contrary to the greening work of restoring nature.
Intending to highlight this peculiar scene of Chinese characteristics in a humorous way, I fabricated an absurd manual about how to greening a construction site after referring to a number of government’s construction regulations. Also I made an installation according to the manual.

A fabricated manual.
The Photographs in the installation were produced in strict accordance with the instructions laid out in the manual.
